Title: – Automated Wheel Chair
Team: – Ameya Udare, Rohit Raghunath
College: – Mumbai University.
The principal objective of the project was to provide a multi-feature automated wheelchair which minimizes human assistance and maximizes user independence. Numerous wheelchairs have been devised having special features for accommodating the basic physical needs of the mobility impaired. However, the use of conventional wheelchairs has served primarily as transportation vehicles which require significant human assistance.
The multi-feature automated wheelchair and method provides a significant degree of freedom, with minimum to virtually no need for human intervention. It has features like obstacle avoidance, edge detection and can automatically move from one ward to other in hospitals. It can dynamically store the taken path and can assist the user to come back to the place from where he started.
